Principal's Message

Priscille Elie

Greetings, Tradewinds Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year—home of the Eagles! I hope your summer was restful, joyful, and full of great memories. We are thrilled to welcome our students back and look forward to a year filled with growth, discovery, and excellence. This year, I’m especially excited to have you return “ignited, inspired, and impacted!” Stay tuned for more details about our Triple “I” Challenge, designed to energize and connect our entire school community.
As we begin this new chapter, we are proud to celebrate a major milestone—30 years of excellence at Tradewinds Elementary! Thanks to your votes, our schoolwide theme for this special year is:
“On a Learning Safari: 30 Years of Exploring, Growing, and Thriving at Tradewinds Elementary (1996–2025)”
This theme honors our rich history while looking ahead to the future, reminding us of our mission to empower students to explore new ideas, grow with confidence, and thrive in every way.
At Tradewinds Elementary, we remain steadfast in our commitment to our mission and vision, which guide every decision we make:

  • Mission: A diverse community of learners and educators striving toward educational excellence for all.
  • Vision: Committed to developing a learning community of caring individuals and lifelong learners. Self-worth is cultivated in a nurturing environment and decisions are based on what is best for students.

These core beliefs continue to drive our work as we support high-quality instruction and strive for increased student achievement. For the 2024-2025 school year, as evidence on the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) we earned a B+ (61%), just one percentage point away from an A+ (62%). While we narrowly missed our A, I am confident that with focus, dedication, and the right players on our safari squad, we’ll cross that finish line this year with a strong A+.
Let’s stay focused on growth, because when growth becomes our goal, everything else will rise with it. As we prepare for the start of the year, please see the attached information regarding our pre-planning week.

Ms. Brantley and I are honored to serve as your administrative team and are truly grateful to be part of such an exceptional school community. Together, let’s make this a year to remember!
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead! #ExcellenceIsTheStandard

Sincerely,
Dr. Priscille Elie
